Last weekend our new, red van was stolen and used to steal an ATM machine from a local convenience store. The van has been recovered by the police, but there is a good amount of damage and the brand new child car seats that we had just purchased along with all of the van’s bench seats are gone. At NSC we use our two vans everyday to pick up children from several elementary schools and bring them back to the center. This happened the first week back at school 1 van had to pick up all of the children which greatly takes away from their precious time at NSC.
The local news covered the story and interviewed Susan Condatore about our stolen van and how it has effected the center. Watch that news clip here:
Here is another news clip about the ATM robbery that the van was used in:
+++UPDATE+++
We got some bad news back from the insurance company. Today we found out that the van is considered “totaled” due to all of the damage from being stolen and used as the getaway vehicle for in an ATM robbery. This means NSC is now back down to 1 van which greatly delays the process off picking up the children from school and taking them back to NSC.
If you or know anyone who can assist with finding a new van please contact us or please help by making a donation today.
We appreciate your support!
